SCRANTON, PA – In a shocking turn of events, Deondray LuRon Crayton, a 36-year-old federal inmate, has been charged with possessing a homemade knife in prison.

According to the indictment, Crayton was found in possession of a shank, a type of homemade knife, on June 21, 2023, while incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution at Schuylkill (FCI Schuylkill) in Pennsylvania.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Special Investigative Services of the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Assistant U.S. Attorney Luisa Honora Berti is prosecuting the case.
