A brazen bribery scheme has rocked the Detroit Police Department, with two current officers and four retired officers charged with extortion in exchange for referring stolen and abandoned vehicles to certain collision shops.

According to a federal indictment, Deonne Dotson and Charles Wills, both currently employed as Detroit Police Officers, have been charged with accepting bribes from owners of automobile collision shops in exchange for referring stolen and abandoned vehicles recovered in the City of Detroit to their shops.
