On June 29, 2014, Alexander entered Foot Locker, located at 655 West Illinois Avenue, Dallas, Texas, and committed an armed robbery. He removed a .380 caliber Thunder Chief pistol from a shoe box and pointed the gun at the employee, demanding money.

Alexander took $209 in cash and two shoes from a display case as he exited the store. Just a day later, on June 30, 2014, Alexander entered 7-Eleven, located at 835 Ninth Street, Dallas, Texas, and committed another armed robbery. Alexander took $146.72 in cash as well as cigarettes during the 7-Eleven robbery. Prior to the robbery of 7-Eleven on Ninth Street, Alexander entered 7-Eleven, located at 2223 South Beckley Avenue, Dallas, Texas, and committed a third armed robbery. He pointed a gun at a store employee and demanded money.

Alexander took an unspecified amount of cash from the store and $220 in cash and property from a 7-Eleven customer, without her consent. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kate Rumsey prosecuted.
