Devine Kun, Possession of Stolen Firearm, Alabama 2015

A Mobile County man has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for his role in possessing a stolen firearm, authorities announced today.

Devine Kun, a 20-year-old resident of Mobile, Alabama, was sentenced by the court to 37 months of incarceration followed by three years of supervised release for possession of a Taurus .22 caliber pistol.

The firearm in question was stolen during a burglary at a home in Mobile County, authorities said. Kun pleaded guilty to possessing the firearm and participating in the burglary on June 16, 2015.

The case was investigated by special agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, who presented the evidence to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for prosecution. Assistant U.S. Attorney Gina S. Vann was assigned to the case.

Kun’s sentence includes 37 months of incarceration, to be followed by three years of supervised release. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of properly securing firearms and reporting crimes to authorities.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office commends the efforts of the ATF and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office for their work on this case.
