Dewar Francisco Beriguete-Hernandez, Fentanyl Trafficking, Maine 2025

PORTLAND, Maine

A Dominican national was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Portland for possessing fentanyl with intent to distribute.

Chief U.S. District Judge Lance E. Walker sentenced Dewar Francisco Beriguete-Hernandez, 21, to three years in federal prison to be followed by three years of supervised release.

Beriguete-Hernandez was convicted on October 24, 2025, following a two-day jury trial.

According to court records, Beriguete-Hernandez was part of a drug trafficking organization that delivered fentanyl from Massachusetts to customers in Maine.

Beriguete-Hernandez was arrested in Kittery in April 2024, in possession of approximately 196 grams of a substance containing fentanyl.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration investigated this case, with the assistance of the Kittery Police Department.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the government to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
