In a shocking case of human trafficking, two individuals have been sentenced for their roles in a child sex trafficking conspiracy in Fort Worth, Texas.
Diwone Nobles, a/k/a ‘Pooh,’ 32, and Katelyn Michelle Ward, a/k/a ‘KD,’ 24, were sentenced by U.S. District Judge Reed C. O’Connor for their involvement in a child sex trafficking conspiracy.
Nobles pleaded guilty to one count of sex trafficking of children in November 2016 and was sentenced to 360 months in federal prison.
Ward pleaded guilty to one count of use of a facility of interstate commerce in aid of a racketeering enterprise in November 2016 and was sentenced to 72 months in federal prison.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Nobles and Ward were part of a group of individuals who trafficked multiple victims, including minors, for commercial sex acts. The group used various methods to recruit and control their victims, including posting advertisements on websites like Backpage.com.
The investigation, led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), revealed that the group’s activities spanned from October 2013 to April 2016.
Other defendants in the case have also been sentenced, including Chad Johnson, a/k/a ‘Ocho Hood Fame,’ 24, who received 300 months in prison; Audry Lane, a/k/a ‘Spud,’ 29, who received 280 months in prison; Deon Bonner, a/k/a ‘Spanish Fly,’ 26, who received 360 months in prison; Stanley Johnson, a/k/a ‘Pee Wee,’ 24, who received 168 months in prison; Alvin Lane, a/k/a ‘Spank,’ 32, who received 166 months in prison; Jessica Arnold, who received 5 years probation; and Serrah Arnold, who received 5 years probation.
