Donora Women Plead Guilty in Stolen Credit Card Plot

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – A grim day in court as two Donora women, Kayla Doree Willis, 22, and Takeisha Lynn Martin, 22, faced the music for their role in a sinister plot to steal credit cards and cash in on the chaos.

In a plea deal that sent chills down the spine of every consumer, Willis and Martin admitted to accepting UPS packages laden with stolen credit cards. These weren’t just any cards; they were the lifelines of unsuspecting victims whose financial futures were jeopardized by these criminals.

Their greed knew no bounds as they used the pilfered plastic to make purchases, leaving a trail of devastation in their wake. United States Attorney David J. Hickton had little patience for such despicable acts, announcing today that justice would be served.

Scheduled for December 10, 2013, Willis and Martin will stand before Senior United States District Judge Gustave Diamond, where they’ll learn their fate. The law allows for a maximum sentence of five years in the slammer, a $250,000 fine, or both—a fitting punishment for such heinous acts.

Assistant United States Attorney Gregory C. Melucci is the architect behind this case’s prosecution. And let’s not forget the Western Pennsylvania Financial Crimes Task Force (WPFCTF), which, through relentless investigation and collaboration with multiple agencies, has been instrumental in bringing Willis and Martin to justice.

The WPFCTF—comprising the United States Attorney’s Office, U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Department of Homeland Security, Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, Allegheny County Police, City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and Pennsylvania State Police—has proven to be a formidable force in the fight against financial crimes.

As for the defendants, they remain presumed innocent until proven guilty. But one thing is certain: their lives have been forever altered by this dark turn of events.
