Donte Lamont Dingle, Armed Robbery with Firearms, Maryland 2020

Baltimore, Maryland – A notorious serial armed robber was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for four brazen armed robberies of liquor stores in Baltimore and Anne Arundel Counties.

Donte Lamont Dingle, 47, of Baltimore, was found guilty of interfering with commerce by robbery, conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, and using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

According to the evidence presented at trial, between June 6, 2018 and July 12, 2018, Dingle committed four armed robberies of liquor stores in Baltimore and Anne Arundel Counties.

During each of these robberies, Dingle entered the store and brandished a pistol at the victims, forcing them to empty the money from the cash registers into his bag and often threatening the victims with death or serious bodily injury.

The total amount stolen from the four stores was approximately $10,000.

A federal jury convicted Dingle on October 20, 2020, after a six-day trial.

U.S. District Judge Deborah K. Chasanow sentenced Dingle to 30 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
