In a dramatic turn of events, John Brady’s fate was sealed in the Dublin Court Room on April 13, 1883. The trial, which had been ongoing for some time, reached its climax as Brady’s defense team presented its case. The court was abuzz with tension as the clerk, Kennedy, took the stand to testify on Brady’s behalf. Kennedy swore that he had spoken to Brady, who was accompanied by a young girl, in Dominick Street between 10 and 7 oclock on the evening of May 1st, the same day of the infamous Phoenix Park murder. He also recognized Agnes McNeil, who had testified the previous day that she was with Brady on that evening, as the girl in question. Kennedy further stated that he had met Brady the following day.
