Drug Kingpin Rotimi Iluyomade’s Seven-Pronged Conspiracy Busted

ABINGDON, Va. – In a massive takedown of prescription drug trafficking, the DEA and FBI have arrested seven individuals linked to Annandale-based doctor Rotimi Iluyomade, who was convicted of distributing over $1 million worth of oxycodone, hydrocodone-chlorpheniramine solution, and promethazine-codeine solution.

The defendants, including Obioma Alozie Ndubuka and Raymono Alfonzo Russell II, face charges ranging from conspiracy to distribute controlled substances to obtaining drugs by fraud. Iluyomade was caught doling out over 7,000 oxycodone pills and massive amounts of prescription solutions.

According to court documents, the co-conspirators operated under a fraudulent scheme that involved fake prescriptions and patients. At least 70 illegal prescriptions were filled in Virginia alone.

The investigation, spanning multiple states, was a collaborative effort between federal and local law enforcement agencies. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Lena Busscher and Randy Ramseyer are leading the prosecution.

Rotimi Iluyomade’s clinic served as the epicenter of this illegal operation, with numerous individuals visiting him to obtain fraudulent prescriptions for highly addictive medications.

The charges against these seven individuals are serious, and they face significant penalties if convicted. The indictment is merely an accusation, and each defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
