Christopher Mandy Holder, Possessing a Stolen Firearm, North Carolina 2019

A Durham man was sentenced to 120 months in prison for possessing a stolen handgun after a high-speed chase through Wake County.

Christopher Mandy Holder, 37, was found guilty of possessing a stolen firearm as a convicted felon during the January 27, 2019 high-speed chase. Holder crashed his vehicle and attempted to run after law enforcement officers found the stolen handgun.

According to court documents, Holder exceeded 100 mph while evading law enforcement officers. The stolen handgun was recovered from the scene.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an evidence-based program aimed at reducing violent crime. The PSN initiative focuses enforcement efforts on the most violent offenders and partners with locally based prevention and reentry programs.

U.S. District Judge Louise W. Flanagan sentenced Holder after a guilty plea on December 8, 2020. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Parris.

G. Norman Acker, III, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, made the announcement. The Wake Forest Police Department, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Durham Police Department, Burlington Police Department, Wake County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) investigated and assisted with the case.
