ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA – Dustin Allen Summerfield, a 30-year-old man from Beverly, West Virginia, has admitted to a serious crime. Dustin Allen Summerfield has pleaded guilty to one count of ‘Distribution of Methamphetamine.’
The crime took place in Randolph County in October 2020. Summerfield admitted to selling methamphetamine, also known as ‘crystal meth’ and ‘ice.’
Summerfield is now facing a harsh sentence. He could be imprisoned for up to 20 years and fined as much as $1,000,000. The actual sentence will be decided by the seriousness of the offense and Summerfield’s prior criminal history.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner is handling the case for the government. The investigation was led by the Mountain Region Drug Task Force.
The case was handled in court by U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi.
Summerfield’s plea marks a significant step in the case. However, the full extent of his sentence remains to be decided. The court will take into account the seriousness of the offense and Summerfield’s prior record when determining his punishment.
The case serves as a reminder of the dangers of methamphetamine distribution. The Mountain Region Drug Task Force has been working tirelessly to combat the issue in Randolph County.
