A disturbing case of child exploitation has surfaced in Morgan County, Alabama, where a 35-year-old man has pleaded guilty to videotaping a 13-year-old girl undressing and stepping into a shower.
According to court documents, Dusty Ray Wilhoite, 35, entered his guilty plea before U.S. District Judge Karon O. Bowdre on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, in federal court in Birmingham, Alabama. Wilhoite’s sentencing is scheduled for December 7, 2023, in Huntsville.
The mother of Wilhoite’s victim found the camera memory card containing the explicit images in 2013 and notified law enforcement. The FBI and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency investigated the case, which Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacquelyn Hutzell is prosecuting.
Wilhoite’s plea agreement with the government states that he produced the video in 2011. The maximum penalty for sexual exploitation of a child is 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
