HARRISBURG — A former Adams County man is behind bars after being sentenced to 87 months in federal prison for receiving and possessing child pornography. Earl Greg Walker, 53, was sentenced today by U.S. District Court Judge Sylvia H. Rambo in Harrisburg, marking the end of a years-long investigation into his predatory online activities.
Walker pleaded guilty on June 13, 2016, to charges stemming from the receipt of child pornography at his Adams County residence between 2011 and 2012. Federal prosecutors, led by United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, detailed how Walker used digital platforms to access and store explicit material involving minors across international borders.
A forensic examination of Walker’s computer uncovered over 1,000 Skype chat logs with underage girls — including three American minors between the ages of 13 and 15 — as well as numerous video files showing minors engaged in sexual acts and full nudity. The evidence painted a disturbing picture of systematic exploitation and grooming behavior targeting vulnerable children.
Brian A. Michael, Acting Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Philadelphia, stated: ‘There is no greater satisfaction than an investigation culminating in a child predator facing justice. Minors here and abroad are safer with the defendant in custody.’ HSI, alongside the Pennsylvania State Police, conducted the investigation that dismantled Walker’s digital trail of abuse.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daryl F. Bloom and brought under the umbrella of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation. The program combines federal, state, and local efforts to identify, apprehend, and convict offenders while rescuing victims of abuse.
Project Safe Childhood continues to target individuals who exploit children online. For more information on the initiative and internet safety resources, visit www.usdoj.gov/psc. Walker’s 87-month sentence reflects the severity of his crimes and the federal commitment to holding child predators accountable.
