East Hartford Narcotics Kingpin Given Over 8 Years for Heroin Distribution

Corey Jerrick, a 30-year-old from East Hartford, was today sentenced to 94 months in federal prison for distributing heroin and violating the conditions of his supervised release. United States Attorney Deirdre M. Daly announced the sentence imposed by U.S. District Judge Vanessa L. Bryant.

Jerrick’s arrest stems from an investigation into a drug trafficking organization operating in the Hartford area, which distributed large quantities of heroin. Between March 2015 and May 2015, investigators intercepted numerous calls where Jerrick discussed arranging drug transactions.

On May 13, 2015, law enforcement officers seized approximately $125,000 in cash during a motor vehicle stop in New York City involving one of Jerrick’s associates.

Jerrick was arrested on June 4, 2015, and his East Hartford apartment search revealed nearly 500 grams of heroin, packaging materials, and other items. Additional drugs were found at locations connected to his co-defendants.

Jerrick has been detained since his arrest and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin on September 13, 2016. His criminal history includes state drug convictions and a prior federal conviction for possession with intent to distribute heroin in 2012.

Jerrick’s sentence includes a consecutive term of 24 months for violating his supervised release. The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Hartford Task Force and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Geoffrey M. Stone.
