In a shocking turn of events, Ebo-Amissah, a 35-year-old Maryland resident, was brought to justice in a federal court for his involvement in a violent crime that shook the community in 2012. On June 6, 2012, the defendant was charged in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland with one count of conspiracy to commit murder and one count of murder in aid of racketeering activity.
The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Baltimore Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation into a string of violent crimes committed by a local gang. Ebo-Amissah was alleged to have played a key role in the conspiracy, providing logistical support and assistance to the perpetrators.
On February 10, 2015, Ebo-Amissah appeared in court for a status hearing, where his attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. The case was set for trial later that year, with a scheduled start date of May 18, 2015.
However, on November 23, 2015, Ebo-Amissah’s attorney filed a motion to withdraw as counsel, citing a breakdown in the attorney-client relationship. The court granted the motion, and new counsel was appointed to represent the defendant.
