ROBBERY SPREE LEAVES LAS VEGAS MAN BEHIND BARS

Las Vegas, Nev. – In a brazen display of violence, Eddie Junior Rodriguez, 46, robbed three convenience stores in less than two hours on December 23, 2014, leaving a trail of shaken victims in his wake.

According to court documents, Rodriguez entered the first Speedee Mart at approximately 3:30 a.m., pointing a knife at an employee and demanding money. Just 30 minutes later, he struck again at another Speedee Mart location, brandishing the same knife and making off with cash. The third and final robbery occurred shortly before 5:00 a.m. at Snackers, where Rodriguez once again demanded money.

“The defendant was brazen and robbed three convenience stores in less than two hours,” said U.S. Attorney Daniel G. Bogden. “Working with the FBI and our law enforcement partners, the U.S. Attorney’s Office is committed to reducing violent crime in Nevada and keeping our communities safe.”

Rodriguez pleaded guilty on August 2, 2016, to three counts of interference with commerce by robbery. He was subsequently sentenced to 51 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Kent J. Dawson.

The case was investigated by the FBI, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexandra Michael prosecuting the case.

The sentence is a stark reminder of the consequences of violent crime in our community. The FBI and local law enforcement agencies will continue to work tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice and keep our neighborhoods safe.
