A Dominican national was sentenced to prison after being caught re-entering the United States illegally, violating a previous deportation order.
According to court documents, Eilin Castillo Montano, a 32-year-old male from the Dominican Republic, was taken into custody by Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Court records show that Castillo Montano was previously ordered deported and removed to the Dominican Republic on April 19, 2016. He had also been convicted of a federal offense in the District Court of the Virgin Islands for possessing a firearm by an illegal alien on August 31, 2015. Additionally, he was convicted of discharging a firearm in the Virgin Islands Superior Court on January 11, 2016.
The defendant admitted to ICE officers that he was in the United States illegally.
United States District Court Judge Robert A. Molloy sentenced Castillo Montano to 12 months imprisonment.

Castillo Montano’s crimes and subsequent deportation were detailed in court documents. The defendant’s actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for U.S. laws and immigration procedures.
