Alabama’s election integrity is under federal watch as U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance mobilizes her top prosecutors to crush any attempt at election fraud or voter suppression. With polls opening November 8, Assistant U.S. Attorneys Pat Meadows and Ramona Albin are locked in as district election officers for the Northern District of Alabama—ready to strike fast on any violation.
The Justice Department’s nationwide Election Day Program is live, and Alabama is in the crosshairs of federal oversight. Meadows and Albin will operate in direct coordination with DOJ headquarters in Washington, D.C., fielding complaints of voter intimidation, ballot tampering, vote buying, and fraudulent ballot marking. No game-playing at the polls—federal law comes down hard.
“Every citizen must be able to vote without interference or discrimination, and to have that vote counted without it being stolen because of fraud,” Vance warned. “The Department of Justice will act promptly and aggressively to protect the integrity of the election process.” That’s not rhetoric—it’s a promise backed by federal statutes that carry real prison time.
Federal law criminalizes voter impersonation, ballot box stuffing, altering vote counts, and coercing voters at polling sites. Even photography or aggressive challenge tactics aimed at intimidating voters could violate civil rights protections. Voters have the right to mark their own ballots—or choose who helps them. Any breach is a federal crime, investigated by the FBI and prosecuted without mercy.
For Election Day, Meadows and Albin will be on duty the entire time polls are open. The public can report suspicious activity directly to the U.S. Attorney’s Office at (205) 244-2001. The FBI will also have special agents on standby in every field location—call 205-326-6166 to report fraud in real time.
Additional complaints can be filed with the Civil Rights Division’s Voting Section in D.C. via phone at 1-800-253-3931 or (202) 307-2767, by email at voting.section@usdoj.gov, or online at justice.gov/crt/complaint/votintake. “Ensuring free and fair elections depends in large part on the cooperation of the American electorate,” Vance said. See it, report it—because the feds are watching too.
