Elkin Lara-Lozano, Reentering the United States, Pennsylvania 2021

A 49-year-old Columbian national has been indicted for reentering the United States, announced Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman today.

The one-count Indictment named Elkin Lara-Lozano as the sole defendant.

According to a publicly filed Complaint, on September 11, 2021, Mr. Lara-Lozano was arrested by the Mount Lebanon Police Department in connection with the burglary of a nearby residence.

Mr. Lara-Lozano has been removed from this country on several previous occasions.

The law provides for a maximum total sentence of not more than three years in prison, a fine, or a combination thereof.

Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant United States Attorney Brian W. Castello is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted the investigation leading to the Indictment in this case.
