HARRISBURG, PA – In a major blow to the illicit drug trade, Esteban Latorre-Cacho, a 38-year-old man from Lockport, New York, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a massive cocaine trafficking operation. Latorre-Cacho’s sentencing comes after he pleaded guilty to possessing over 5 kilograms of cocaine with the intent to distribute.

On April 30, 2021, members of the Pennsylvania State Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle in Lehigh County, which ultimately led to the seizure of 67 kilograms of cocaine. The massive haul had a street value of approximately $2 million. An investigation revealed that Latorre-Cacho was the sole occupant of the vehicle and had picked up the boxes containing the cocaine within the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration conducted the investigation, which was a major collaboration between law enforcement agencies. Assistant United States Attorney Robert J. O’Hara prosecuted the case, bringing Latorre-Cacho to justice for his crimes.
