Florida Man Charged with Crimes Involving the Sexual Exploitation of Children

ROGER BRENT CHURCHWELL, age 58, of Vero Beach, Florida, has been charged with crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children, announced United States Attorney Dana J. Boente.

If convicted, CHURCHWELL faces a mandatory minimum of five years, and a maximum of twenty years in prison, followed by up to a life term of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. CHURCHWELL can also be required to register as a sex offender.

United States Attorney Boente reiterated that the bill of information is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

This case is being investigated by special agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution of this case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney Jordan Ginsberg.

According to the charges, ROGER BRENT CHURCHWELL has been accused of committing crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children. The full extent of the crimes is not yet clear, but it is believed that CHURCHWELL has been involved in the exploitation of minors.
