A brazen bank heist in Baton Rouge left a trail of fear and financial loss, but in the end, justice was served. On December 5, 2022, Floyd C. Hose, Jr., age 38, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, walked into the Cottonport Bank and demanded cash from a teller.
Hose passed a note to the teller, threatening, ‘don’t do anything stupid or you will get hurt.’ The teller complied, handing over $9,605. Hose then fled the bank, leaving behind a scene of chaos and destruction.
But law enforcement was hot on his heels. During a search of Hose’s apartment, detectives located a mask suspected to be worn during the robbery and money suspected to be taken during the robbery. The evidence was damning, and Hose eventually confessed to the crime.
Hose was arrested and charged with bank robbery. In a federal court, he was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison. The court also ordered him to serve three years of supervised release following his term of imprisonment and pay $9,605 in restitution.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Baton Rouge Police Department worked tirelessly to bring Hose to justice. Their dedication and expertise were instrumental in solving the case and ensuring that Hose would face the consequences of his actions.
Assistant United States Attorney Edward H. Warner prosecuted the case, working closely with law enforcement to ensure that justice was served. The people of Baton Rouge can rest easier knowing that the perpetrator of this heinous crime will be held accountable.
