Four Busted in Boston Drug Ring

BOSTON – A massive operation in Boston has led to the arrest and arraignment of four alleged kingpins in a drug trafficking conspiracy that spanned across the city.

Jose Perez Felix, 41, from Dorchester, known by aliases including ‘Eugenio Piedraita-Rivera’ and ‘Grande,’ Edward Chapman, 51, of Pittsfield, Anthony Tsina, 35, from Quincy, and Yonatan Lara, 34, a Boston resident, have been hit with charges for conspiracy to distribute and possess heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and oxycodone.

According to the latest charging document, Perez Felix has been identified as a key figure in distributing large quantities of dangerous drugs from his Boston base. His drug cell was closely investigated by federal and state law enforcement, leading to the discovery of Lara’s involvement. Chapman and Tsina were found to be major traffickers supplied directly by Perez Felix.

The feds moved on May 30, 2019, executing several search warrants that netted over 100 grams of suspected heroin and/or fentanyl, along with cell phones, drug packaging materials, and digital scales used for street sales.

Each defendant faces a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison, mandatory supervised release of at least three years, and fines not exceeding $1 million. Sentencing will be determined by the federal district court judge based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.

The investigation and arrests were the result of a collaborative effort between the United States Attorney Andrew E. Lelling; Homeland Security Investigations in Boston; the Drug Enforcement Administration, New England Division; Massachusetts State Police; and the Boston Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Christopher Pohl and Alathea Porter will be handling the prosecution.
