A 57-year-old man from Los Angeles has been sentenced to 41 months in federal prison for his role in a sinister interstate stalking case. Gabriel Robert Caggiano, 57, was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison for stalking a former employer and his wife who reside in San Antonio.
On March 31, 2016, Caggiano pleaded guilty to one count of stalking, according to a recent court record. According to court records, in 2008, Caggiano was employed at a television station in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Caggiano was ultimately terminated from his employment at the station. By pleading guilty, Caggiano admitted that from March 15, 2015 until August 26, 2015, he repeatedly used voicemails, text messaging, social media and the U.S. Mail to retaliate against his victims.
In those communications, Caggiano threatened physical violence against his victims as well as to embarrass, humiliate and cause substantial emotional distress to his victims by destroying the reputation of his former employer and his wife.
United States District Judge Xavier Rodriguez also ordered that Caggiano be placed on supervised release for a period of three years after completing his prison term. Caggiano has remained in custody since November 2015.
This investigation was conducted by the FBI in San Antonio and Los Angeles. Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Wannarka prosecuted this case on behalf of the Government.
Caggiano, Gabriel Robert, was found guilty of one count of stalking in March 2016. The crime occurred in San Antonio, Texas. His prison sentence is 41 months. The defendant has been in custody since November 2015.
