Darin Lee Meeks, Methamphetamine Distribution, Kansas 2019

A Garden City man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing methamphetamine, according to court records.

Darin Lee Meeks, 50, was found guilty of distributing an ounce of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in 2019. This was not Meeks’ first offense; he has an extensive criminal history involving crimes of violence and drugs, including felony convictions for aggravated assault in 2003, burglary in 1997, and possession of controlled substances in 2010.

The investigation into Meeks’ activities was led by the Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crimes Task Force, a cooperative effort between several law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and local police departments.

Meeks’ association with the Severely Violent Criminals (SVC) and Aryan Knights (AK) prison gangs also raised concerns for law enforcement. His involvement with these gangs has been well-documented, and his connections have been linked to a number of violent crimes in the region.

The Treasure Valley Partnership, a group of elected officials dedicated to regional coordination and cooperation, played a crucial role in the investigation and prosecution of Meeks. The partnership’s efforts have led to a number of high-profile cases being brought to justice in recent years.

Meeks will serve his six-year sentence and then be on supervised release for four years after his release. His prison sentence is a result of his guilty plea in March 2021. Meeks was indicted on the charge of distributing methamphetamine in June 2020.

The investigation into Meeks’ activities highlights the ongoing struggle to combat methamphetamine trafficking in the Treasure Valley region. As law enforcement continues to work together to address this issue, it is clear that the consequences for those found guilty of these crimes will be severe.
