Garrick Davaughn McCrary, 29, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, has admitted to a serious crime that has left one local resident shaken and fearful for their safety.
According to a recent plea deal, McCrary faces a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for his role in a stalking case that unfolded in the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.
The indictment, which sparked a multi-agency investigation by the Okmulgee Police Department, the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Lighthorse Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, alleged that McCrary engaged in a course of conduct that caused substantial emotional distress to the victim.
Over the course of nearly two years, from April 2023 to January 16, 2025, McCrary reportedly used facilities of interstate or foreign commerce, including social media and internet websites, to harass and intimidate his victim.
The charge against McCrary arose from an investigation that was launched in response to a series of disturbing incidents involving the defendant and his alleged victim.

The Honorable Gerald L. Jackson, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.
A U.S. District Court Judge will determine the sentence to be imposed after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
McCrary was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Service and will remain in their care pending sentencing.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacob R. Parker represented the United States in the case.
