The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Georgia is joining forces with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and local law enforcement to promote a crucial public safety initiative. The nationwide drug take-back day, scheduled for October 26, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., encourages citizens to safely dispose of unwanted and expired medications.
With prescription medicine abuse on the rise, this event is a prime opportunity for Georgians to contribute to reducing drug-related crime in their communities. Unwanted or expired drugs can be dropped off at various locations across the state, including sheriff’s offices, police departments, and military exchanges.
