A Georgia man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a fentanyl trafficking operation.
According to court documents, BRANTLEY, 35, was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl.
The case, United States v. BRANTLEY, was heard in the District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, with docket number 5:22-cr-00037.
Prosecutors alleged that Brantley was involved in a large-scale fentanyl trafficking operation, which resulted in the distribution of thousands of fentanyl pills in the region.
During the trial, evidence was presented that Brantley had been receiving large shipments of fentanyl from out-of-state suppliers and then distributing the pills to local buyers.
On January 12, 2023, Brantley was sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment fee.
U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, Bobby L. Christine, praised the work of law enforcement in bringing the case to justice.
‘This sentence sends a clear message that fentanyl trafficking will not be tolerated in our community,’ Christine said in a statement. ‘We will continue to work tirelessly to disrupt and dismantle these operations.’
