Glen Allan Aley, 45, Faces Charges for Possessing Unregistered Machine Guns in Owensboro, Kentucky
Bowling Green, KY – Glen Allan Aley, a 45-year-old man from Owensboro, Kentucky, has been charged with 19 counts of possessing unregistered machine guns and firearms. According to a superseding indictment, Aley was in possession of multiple firearms, including machine guns, short-barreled shotguns, and silencers, that were not registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record.
Specifically, Aley was found to be in possession of several .223 Wylde caliber, M-16-type firearms (machineguns); Fabrique Nationale Herstal, Model PS90 5.7x28mm caliber firearms (machineguns); Eds Tactical Armory, Model 2A, 7.62x39mm caliber AR-type firearm (short-barreled rifle); 7.62x51mm caliber AR-type firearm (machine gun); 7.62x51mm caliber AR-type firearm, (machine gun); AR-type firearm (short-barreled rifle); New England Firearms, Model SB2, 10-gague shotgun (short-barreled shotgun); and black cylindrical devices, (firearm silencers).
The indictment alleges that Aley possessed the firearms between February 16, 2017, and March 28, 2017. Aley remains free on an unsecured $25,000 bond.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Nute Bonner and is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). The indictment of a person by a Grand Jury is an accusation only, and Aley is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
