A massive $2 million methamphetamine ring has been dismantled in West Texas, with one of its key players facing life in prison.
United States v. Gonzalez-Garcia, a federal criminal case, was brought to light in the District Court of the Western District of Texas, with docket number 3:25-cr-02813.
Gonzalez-Garcia, 32, of Lubbock, Texas, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, a crime punishable by life in prison.
The case, which involves multiple defendants and several co-conspirators, is the result of a long-standing investigation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Lubbock Police Department.
According to court documents, Gonzalez-Garcia was a key player in the meth trafficking operation, which brought in an estimated $2 million in revenue.
Attorneys for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas are seeking a sentence of life in prison for Gonzalez-Garcia. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years to life in prison and a fine of up to $10 million.
Gonzalez-Garcia is currently being held at the Lubbock County Detention Center, pending a hearing scheduled for April 12. His attorneys have not commented on the case.
