Gonzalez-Garcia’s Deadly Web of Narcotics Unraveled in Texas Court

A Texas district court delivered a crushing blow to the notorious narcotics trafficking ring led by 37-year-old Victor Manuel Gonzalez-Garcia, who was found guilty of distributing and conspiring to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

On March 15, 2024, U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman sentenced Gonzalez-Garcia to 240 months, or 20 years, in federal prison, in addition to five years of supervised release, following his conviction in the United States v. Gonzalez-Garcia case (3:25-cr-02813) in the Western District of Texas.

As revealed during the trial, Gonzalez-Garcia’s ring brought in millions of dollars through the illicit sale of narcotics across the United States. According to court documents, Gonzalez-Garcia’s operation distributed over 1,000 kilograms of methamphetamine, generating an estimated $50 million in revenue.

Prosecutors argued that Gonzalez-Garcia’s trafficking activities were coordinated through encrypted communication channels and money laundering schemes. The defendant’s stash house, located in the Austin area, was seized by law enforcement, yielding substantial evidence of the operation’s scope and organization.

Assistant U.S. Attorney, Gregg N. Sofer, expressed his satisfaction with the verdict, stating, ‘Today’s sentence holds accountable a major player in a significant narcotics trafficking operation that caused immense harm to our communities. We will continue to work tirelessly to dismantle these types of organizations and bring justice to those affected.’

Gonzalez-Garcia’s conviction serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of narcotics trafficking and the importance of law enforcement’s efforts in combatting this epidemic.
