HARRISBURG – Erikx Soto-Gomez, a 41-year-old citizen of Guatemala, was yesterday sentenced to time-served (75 days in prison) for illegal reentry into the United States by United States District Court Judge Julia K. Munley.
Soto-Gomez had previously been removed from the country in 2012 following a court order. The sentencing came after he was arrested for Driving Under the Influence in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, on April 10, 2025. According to Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus, Soto-Gomez pleaded guilty to illegal reentry before being sentenced.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Francis P. Sempa and Tatum Wilson prosecuting it. The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at repelling illegal immigration and protecting communities from violent crime.
Soto-Gomez still faces pending state charges in Lebanon County, and an ICE detainer has been lodged against him for deportation proceedings. The operation includes resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
Operation Take Back America is a relentless effort to eliminate cartels, transnational criminal organizations, and protect American citizens from the repercussions of illegal immigration.
