Guilford Dealer Bickmore Sentenced for Heroin Distribution

Bangor, Maine – In a grim turn of events, Joshua Bickmore, 30, from Guilford, Maine, was sentenced yesterday to three years in prison and an additional three years of supervised release for distributing heroin. The sentence was imposed by Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr., during a hearing in U.S. District Court.

Bickmore pleaded guilty on July 12, 2016, to the charge against him. According to court records, Bickmore met with an undercover law enforcement officer and a confidential informant at the Cambridge, Maine General Store, where he sold thirteen wax baggies of heroin for $390 on August 13, 2015.

During sentencing, Judge Woodcock emphasized the gravity of Bickmore’s actions, stating, ‘It doesn’t have to be this way. It’s time for you to man-up and pursue legitimate employment.’ The judge’s words reflect a deep concern for the defendant’s future and society’s loss due to drug trafficking.

The investigation leading to Bickmore’s conviction was a collaborative effort between the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Greenville Police Department. Their diligent work has led to the sentencing of an individual responsible for spreading heroin in Maine communities.
