Hason Tatorian ‘Tory’ Fields, a 52-year-old man from Goose Creek, has been sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison for his role in a brazen public corruption scheme in North Charleston.
According to the Department of Justice, Fields was found guilty of conspiracy to commit bribery with respect to programs receiving federal funds and honest services wire fraud, bribery with respect to programs receiving federal funds, and honest services wire fraud.
The scheme, which involved corrupt officials and businessmen, was designed to line the pockets of those involved with taxpayer dollars. Fields’ sentencing is a major blow to the corrupt network, and a victory for the people of North Charleston who deserve honest and transparent government.
