Gulfport, Miss. – A 41-year-old man, living in Gulfport, was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine in Harrison County.
Hector Serrano-Cruz, an illegal alien from Mexico, was held accountable for distributing approximately five pounds of methamphetamine ‘ICE’ to a local distributor, according to U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst and Special Agent in Charge Christopher Freeze of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The defendant pled guilty on February 5, 2018, to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Meynardie.
Serrano-Cruz will serve 168 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for his crimes.
The harsh sentence serves as a reminder of the severe consequences of engaging in illicit activities, particularly those involving narcotics.
The investigation and prosecution of this case demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement agencies to protecting the citizens of the Gulf Coast region from the scourge of drug trafficking.
