The United States Attorney’s Office in North Carolina has made a major dent in the war on drugs with the successful prosecution of a heroin trafficking organization that brought large amounts of the deadly drug to Nash, Edgecombe, and Halifax Counties.
The lead defendant, responsible for trafficking almost 10 kilograms of heroin, was at the center of the operation. The heroin was brought in from New Jersey.
Acting United States Attorney G. Norman Acker, III, will lead a press conference at the Nash County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, July 30, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. to discuss the case.
Members of the Sheriffs of Nash, Edgecombe, and Halifax Counties, along with members of participating police departments, are expected to participate in the event.
