Washington D.C. – A gruesome scene unfolded on U.S. Highway No. 1, just shy of Alexandria, as two traveling salesmen lost their lives in a catastrophic truck-automobile wreck. The victims, 49-year-old Michael Richard of New York City and 47-year-old William R. Moore of Tampa, Florida, were crushed beneath the wheels of a trailer truck driven by William Wiley, 27, of Hatfield, Pennsylvania. The devastating accident occurred around 9 miles south of Alexandria, leaving a trail of death and destruction in its wake.
