Three Missouri men are facing federal charges in a high-volume methamphetamine trafficking ring that stretched across two counties. Michael Huckabey, 39, and Wesley A. Burrow, 34, both of Noel, Mo., along with Steven C. McCurley, 50, of Crocker, Mo., were named in a federal indictment unsealed today in Springfield, Mo., for their alleged roles in a conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of meth.
The indictment alleges the trio operated a coordinated network to move and sell meth in Pulaski County and McDonald County between Dec. 16, 2015, and May 9, 2016. Federal authorities say the operation involved multiple transactions, logistical coordination, and distribution that posed a significant threat to local communities.
U.S. Attorney Tammy Dickinson confirmed the charges, emphasizing that the indictment is not a finding of guilt. “This is an accusation,” Dickinson stated. “Evidence must be presented to a jury, and it is their duty to determine guilt or innocence.”
The case was investigated by a coalition of law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Waynesville Police Department, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, the Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team, and the McDonald County Sheriff’s Department. Their joint task force uncovered communication trails, financial records, and physical evidence linking the defendants to the conspiracy.
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jody Larison is leading the prosecution. If convicted, each defendant faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison and up to life, along with steep fines and asset forfeiture under federal drug laws.
The case remains under federal jurisdiction, with arraignments expected in the coming weeks in the Western District of Missouri. Court records confirm all three defendants have been taken into custody and are awaiting initial hearings.
