BOISE – In a shocking turn of events, Hussein Al Hasani, 22, of Boise, has pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm, U.S. Attorney Bart M. Davis announced. This federal gun charge stems from an altercation outside a hookah bar in Nampa, where Al Hasani discharged a firearm, putting innocent lives at risk.
According to court records, the incident occurred on June 15, 2019, when Al Hasani was involved in an altercation with individuals outside the hookah bar. During the altercation, Al Hasani discharged a .40 caliber, semi-automatic handgun, leading to his arrest by police. Upon arrest, Al Hasani was found to be in possession of the handgun, which is a serious offense given his prior felony conviction and subsequent prohibition from possessing firearms.
The charge of unlawful possession of a firearm is punishable by up to ten years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, and up to 3 years of supervised release. This sentence reflects the severity of the crime and the danger it poses to the community. As the case awaits sentencing, set for December 7, 2020, before U.S. District Judge B.
