BODY:
A federal investigation in the U.S. Virgin Islands has brought down a notorious prostitution ring operating out of a St. Thomas strip club. Hussein Jamil Suarez, 56, also known as Tony, has been charged alongside two accomplices, Magda Castro Santos, 39, also known as Tatiana, and Julio Hidaldo De Pena, 65, for their alleged roles in the illicit operation.
According to court documents, Tootsies Gentlemen’s Club, owned and operated by Jamil, was a front for a brothel where women, both U.S. citizens and illegal aliens, were hired as dancers and sex workers. The alleged conspirators used social media platforms like Instagram to recruit women to work at the club. Jamil is accused of financing smuggling operations to bring in aliens and paying for U.S. citizens to travel to St. Thomas to work at the club.
The investigation, which led to the arrest of the trio, was a result of a joint effort between U.S. law enforcement agencies. A federal judge in the District of the Virgin Islands issued a criminal complaint and authorized arrest warrants for the three suspects.
The charges against Jamil, Castro Santos, and De Pena include operating a prostitution ring and harboring illegal aliens. The exact date of their arrest is not specified in the available information.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to dismantle the prostitution ring and bring those responsible to justice. The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and organized crime in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
