Indiana Woman Threatens Trump’s Life on Facebook

WASHINGTON D.C. – Nathalie Rose Jones, 50, of Lafayette, Indiana, is cooling her heels in a federal holding cell after a series of chilling threats against President Donald Trump surfaced on social media. Jones was arrested Saturday, August 16, in the District of Columbia and faces serious federal charges after allegedly posting violent statements on both Facebook and Instagram, according to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

The feds allege that between August 2 and August 15, Jones, using the Instagram handle “nath.jones” and the Facebook account “Nath.Jones,” unleashed a torrent of angry rhetoric, escalating into explicit threats. Court documents reveal Jones called for Trump’s removal, branded him a “terrorist,” and even accused his administration of dictatorial practices. The rage seems rooted in the COVID-19 pandemic, with Jones blaming Trump for “extreme and unnecessary loss of life.”

But it wasn’t just venting. The threats became disturbingly specific. On August 6, in a Facebook post directed at the FBI, Jones allegedly wrote she was “willing to sacrificially kill this POTUS by disemboweling him and cutting out his trachea with Liz Cheney and all The Affirmation present.” Another post, dated August 14, aimed at U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, demanded Trump’s “arrest and removal ceremony” at the White House on August 16, 2025. This wasn’t idle chatter, the government contends.

During a voluntary interview with the Secret Service on August 15, Jones doubled down on her animosity, reportedly calling the President a “terrorist” and a “nazi.” She admitted that if given the chance, she’d take his life, even specifying she’d kill him at “the compound” and stating she possessed a “bladed object” to carry out the act. She linked her potential violence to a desire to “avenge all the lives lost during the Covid-19 pandemic.”

The Secret Service wasn’t sitting still. Jones participated in a protest march near the White House on August 16, circling the complex after starting at Dupont Circle. A second interview followed, where Jones admitted making the threats but then claimed she no longer harbored any intent to harm the President. It was too late. She was arrested and confirmed ownership of the accounts used to post the menacing messages. Jones is charged in U.S. District Court with threatening to take the life of, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States, and transmitting in interstate commerce communications containing threats to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of another.

“Threatening the life of the President is one of the most serious crimes and one that will be met with swift and unwavering prosecution,” declared U.S. Attorney Pirro. “Make no mistake—justice will be served.” Special Agent in Charge Matt McCool of the U.S. Secret Service added, “Protecting the President…is our highest priority,” and praised the quick response of agents from New York and Washington, D.C., in neutralizing the alleged threat. The investigation remains ongoing, and Jones now faces a potentially lengthy federal prison sentence if convicted.”
