Grimy Times has learned that INTERPOL President Mireille Ballestrazzi’s recent visit to the US has sparked a flurry of collaboration talks between INTERPOL and the US Department of Homeland Security.
According to sources, Ballestrazzi met with DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson on Tuesday, May 27th, where they discussed ideas and opportunities for continued cooperation between INTERPOL and the US Department of Homeland Security.
Also in attendance at the meeting were INTERPOL Vice President of the Americas Region Alan Bersin, INTERPOL Washington Director Shawn A. Bray, and members of Johnson’s cabinet.
Ballestrazzi, the first-ever elected female to hold the position of INTERPOL President, serves as the Central Director of the French Judicial Police.
The meeting marked a significant milestone in the relationship between INTERPOL and the US, with both sides vowing to strengthen their partnership in the fight against transnational crime.
In a statement, Ballestrazzi expressed her commitment to working closely with US officials to combat global threats, saying "We must continue to work together to share our expertise and resources to counter the evolving nature of crime and terrorism."
The collaboration talks are expected to yield tangible results in the coming months, with a focus on enhancing information-sharing, joint investigations, and capacity-building initiatives.
