A Cedar Rapids man has been sentenced to 420 months in federal prison for leading a methamphetamine trafficking organization.

Jacob William Brisbin, 28, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was sentenced on January 12, 2015, to 420 months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute a controlled substance on October 6, 2014.

Evidence presented at sentencing showed that Brisbin was the leader of a drug trafficking organization and was responsible for the near-daily manufacture of methamphetamine for over a year. During this time, Brisbin personally manufactured over 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine and maintained a network of individuals who distributed the substance on his behalf. He also distributed ‘Ice’ methamphetamine to customers and possessed numerous firearms in connection with his operation.

Additionally, while detained in the Linn County Jail, Brisbin engaged in a pattern of behavior designed to obstruct justice by influencing the testimony of government witnesses.
