MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Jade Larae Duncan, 28, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to a year in federal prison and two years of supervised release for Involuntary Manslaughter. The charge stems from a tragic DUI crash that occurred on December 2, 2022, in Adair County.
Duncan was driving when her vehicle veered off the road, crashing into a creek bed alongside Salem Road. She managed to escape with one passenger, but the second passenger died from injuries sustained during the crash and subsequent fire. Toxicology reports revealed Duncan’s blood alcohol level was 0.085 g/ml, slightly above the legal limit.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the Adair County Sheriff’s Office. Duncan pleaded guilty to the charge on February 11, 2025.
Judge Ronald A. White presided over the hearing, which took place within the Cherokee Nation Reservation boundaries in the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Duncan is set to self-report to a federal prison facility on August 4, 2025, to serve her non-paroleable sentence.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Lewis M. Reagan, Patrick M. Flanigan, and T. Cameron McEwen represented the United States in this case.
