Jailhouse Rebellion: Frank W. Funk’s Gastronomic Protest

Washington D.C., August 23, 1899 – In a bizarre display of defiance, Frank W. Funk, the man accused of murdering William H. Brooks, made his presence known at the District jail yesterday. Upon arrival, Funk expressed his discontent with the management of the institution, led by Warden Harris.
