Bangor Man Pleads Guilty to Conspiracy Charge
A 39-year-old Bangor man has pleaded guilty to a drug conspiracy charge, according to a recent plea agreement.
Jason Mannix, also known as ‘Boston’, conspired with others to distribute heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine base, commonly known as ‘crack,’ in Penobscot County. The drugs were transported from Waterbury, Connecticut, between January 2016 and July 2017.
Mannix sold the drugs and served as a ‘runner’ for other members of the conspiracy, delivering the drugs to others in Penobscot County. He also transported members of the conspiracy to Connecticut to obtain more drugs.
The defendant faces up to 20 years in prison, three years to life on supervised release, and a $1,000,000 fine.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and prosecuted as part of the Strategy to Combat the Opioid Epidemic.
Jason Mannix, a/k/a ‘Boston’, is set to be sentenced for his role in the conspiracy. The exact date of sentencing is not specified.
