Joseph Grant Flamion, 47, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, was handed a 25-year federal prison sentence followed by 15 years of supervised release for sexually exploiting a child and possessing child sexual abuse material. Court documents reveal that Flamion secretly recorded a minor in shower and dressing areas using hidden cameras placed in the child’s bathroom and bedroom.
In October 2021, while on vacation with the child in Florida, Flamion used a hidden camera to record the child undressing. The child and a witness reported Flamion’s actions to Indiana Department of Child Services, prompting him to destroy his equipment before law enforcement could seize it.
Jeffersonville Police Department conducted searches on July 5, 2022, uncovering electronic devices with nude recordings of the victim on Flamion’s laptop, iPhone, and MicroSD card. Flamion admitted creating the recordings for personal sexual gratification during his guilty plea.
United States Attorney Zachary A. Myers emphasized the importance of protecting children from such predators, praising the collaborative efforts of the Jeffersonville Police Department, FBI, and federal prosecutors. Col. Kenny Kavanaugh, Chief of Police of the Jeffersonville Police Department, thanked partnering agencies for their thorough investigation that led to a successful prosecution.
The sentence was imposed by Chief U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt, who also ordered Flamion to pay $10,000 in restitution and fines, as well as register as a sex offender.
