Ranson, West Virginia Man Charged with Felon in Possession of Firearm
Jeremiah David Wallace’s reckless disregard for the law has finally caught up with him. The 28-year-old Ranson man has been charged with two counts of Felon in Possession of Firearm, a serious crime that carries severe penalties.
According to authorities, Wallace was allegedly found in possession of multiple firearms in Berkeley County, West Virginia in November 2015. What’s even more egregious is that Wallace, having been convicted of a felony in Frederick County, Virginia, is prohibited from possessing firearms.
Wallace’s actions are a blatant disregard for the law and pose a significant risk to public safety. The fact that he was found with multiple firearms despite being a convicted felon is a serious offense that demands severe punishment.
The indictment against Wallace was handed down by a federal grand jury. He faces up to ten years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 for each count. The actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant, according to the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins is handling the case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Ranson Police Department are investigating.
An indictment is merely an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Wallace’s case will go to trial, and the evidence will be presented in court. We will continue to follow this case and provide updates as more information becomes available.
The people of West Virginia deserve to feel safe in their communities. By holding individuals like Jeremiah David Wallace accountable for their actions, we can work towards creating a safer and more just society.
This is a developing story, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
