Jimmy Bell, Drug Trafficking, Pennsylvania 2026

A 33-year-old man from Scranton, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 240 months in prison for his role in a large-scale drug trafficking operation.

Jimmy Bell, 33, of Scranton, was sentenced on May 13, 2026, by United States District Judge Karoline Mehalchick for his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and marihuana.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Bell had pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and marihuana, one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one count of attempted possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute marihuana, one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, and one count of possessing firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.

As part of his guilty plea, Bell admitted to conspiring with his co-defendants to distribute and possess with intent to distribute over 2 kilograms of methamphetamine and nearly 4 kilograms of marihuana in Lackawanna County on or about May 26, 2023.

Bell, a previously convicted felon, also admitted to possessing a rifle with an obliterated serial number and additional ammunition, as well as a Smith & Wesson .38 special handgun with an obliterated serial number and additional ammunition, in furtherance of his drug trafficking offense.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that aims to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect communities from violent crime.

The matter was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Gerard Donahue prosecuted the case.
